Plum Flower.

This visual logo is in the shape of a plum flower. The plum flower has been loved and commonly used in Japan, just like the cherry blossom.

In the center is a red circle surrounded by a negative space shape of a star. The red circle symbolizes Japan while the star represents the United States.

Each separate curved pedal curves towards the center – which is the hino-maru and star – representing the unity of all of the Japan-interest student groups.

Daiga Shinohara, Designer.

After a design review by the board, Daiga Shinohara’s plum-flower logo design was chosen to represent the MJSAs’ vision for the upcoming years to come.

Shinohara graduated from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and was also the President of the Japan Student Organization at OSU.
